Project description:

The aim of the project is to increase the efficiency of the education system and the quality of learning outcomes through educational technology and innovation.
Project activities:
– Introducing state-of-the-art educational technologies in the education sector, enabling the development and testing of digital educational innovations (EdTech Innovation Development and Testing Platform), and strengthening the digital competences of educators.
– Developing technological solutions and the necessary digital teaching and learning resources in educational institutions (digital content) to enable personalised distance learning beyond the pandemic.
The project will strengthen the digital competences of KTU lecturers by applying the latest training programmes in line with EU practices, encouraging teachers to strengthen their digital competences during training or to acquire additional qualifications. At the end of the training, the upgrading teachers will develop digital teaching materials.
Students will acquire knowledge and skills relevant to a teacher of informatics and the ability to apply them to develop students’ computational thinking and digital literacy, and to stimulate students’ interest in digital technologies. Modern methodologies in the subject of informatics and virtual teaching(s) will be acquired. Practical skills in digital content creation, programming, data exploration, technological problem solving, communication and collaboration through virtual means are acquired. An understanding of safe behaviour and security requirements in the use of information technology.

Project funding:

Funded under The Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) and the state budget of the Republic of Lithuania.


Project results:

The project will create an EdTech platform for all educational institutions to participate in the development, testing and application of digital technologies and innovations in education.
Creation of high quality digital learning tools and digital infrastructure through the deployment of a common digital resource base, development of digital teaching/learning tools
Improved digital competences of teachers
Results achieved:
• Teachers obtained qualifications as IT teachers or master’s degrees in information technology.
• Teachers completed training courses designed to improve their digital skills.
• Higher education lecturers completed training courses designed to improve their digital skills.
• Digital teaching and learning tools began to be used.
