Studies

KTU Faculty of Informatics is proud of their students and staff – our teachers have extensive practical knowledge and our students are the most sought-after in the job market. The Faculty’s master’s students can acquire tailor-made competence package through unique for KTU master’s study model Ma+ Our students are engaged in various interdisciplinary projects and create IT solutions that solve immediate problems of today’s world.

Artificial Intelligence

The aim of this study programme is to prepare highly competent information technology specialists, who can develop intelligent software systems applying machine learning, image recognition, data processing and data analysis algorithms.

The Artificial Intelligence study programme is for those future professionals who are willing to apply most recent currently developing technologies, who are interested in developing AI based solutions. This study programme will provide learners not only with the skills and knowledge on how to apply AI algorithms; its graduates will also possess deep fundamental understanding of AI algorithms, which will enable them to determine algorithms efficiency, to develop hybrid AI models using image and language processing and machine learning, as well as choosing appropriate architectural parameters for systems aimed at implementing intelligent solutions.

Information Systems

In this study programme students acquire skills and knowledge of developing different information systems (IS) that ensure efficient functioning of any enterprise. They learn to develop the systems, which allow to comprehend, analyse and shape the activities, to design and to program different IS and data bases, to work in a team and to manage IS projects. The students acquire comprehensive knowledge on every stage of IS development including its design and programming, IS project management, preparing the IS project models, programming and installing. The graduates of Information Systems study programme are able to understand and analyse the necessities of company management that are based on information. Specializations: designing IS and project management; programming Internet IS and data bases.

Software Systems

According to recommendations of the World’s computing association ACM, this study programme integrates knowledge and skills’ development in computer science and software systems field. The students studying Software Systems acquire professional knowledge on new programming languages and carcases, on optimising algorithms, on effective data structure and data bases. The application of designing tools and UML models, testing of different programs and static analysis will provide the students with necessary technical skills, and the project development in Agile method, which is perfect for managing software projects aiming to meet client’s needs and assure the software systems quality, will help students develop their teamwork skills. Programming of real distributed systems – parallel architectures, designing of web services and cloud computing systems will allow to gain the designing solution skills in different areas.
