This virtual reality project is designed for clinics that perform medical procedures on children. Specifically, the solution is intended for procedures that may frighten children – such as vaccinations, blood drawings, etc. During the procedure, the doctor places virtual reality glasses on the child, which display an animated storyline. The storyline is designed to divert the child’s attention away from the procedure, with something impressive happening at a specific moment in the animation. During this event, the doctor performs the procedure, and the child is expected to feel no discomfort, thereby reducing stress. This solution is currently used by two institutions in Lithuania.
